The National President of AUC, Myanmar, Fr. John Saw is Appointed as Auxiliary Bishop

Pope Francis has appointed Fr. John Saw Yaw Han as Auxiliary Bishop of Yangon, Myanmar on 30th of December 2014. He was born in Homalim, Myanmar in 1968 and was ordained a priest in 1995. He studied philosophy and theology at the St. Joseph national major seminary, and has served in a number of roles, including missionary “fidei donum” in the diocese of Kentung, lecturer in philosophy at the national major seminary in Mandalay; assistant at the St. Lazarus Church in Insein and St. Mary's Cathedral in Yangon; lecturer in theology at the national major seminary in Yangon; and rector at the minor seminary of Bago. He is currently rector of the national major seminary in Yangon.

He is the national President of AUC, Myanmar for the last few years. The Episcopal Ordination would be held on 12th April 2015at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Yangon, at 8:00 am. We wish him all God’s blessings and hope that AUC will be strengthened also among the Bishops that be present in every diocese under his patronage.
