Dear Friends of AUC and AUL

Let me carry forward a very special e-mail, we have received from Verdun:

Dear members of the UAC,

I would like to let you know that the Pope Francis has appointed me, this Tuesday ', to the Episcopal see of Langres. This diocese is located in the Northeast of France, and is in fact close to my diocese Verdun (we share a common boundary). The Episcopal Ordination will be celebrated on Sunday 16 march, at 15.00 in the Cathedral of Langres. Thank you for your prayers!

+ Joseph de Metz-Noblat

Msgr. Joseph Noblat was the first international Councillor of AUC until October 2012. We will not highlight about his past as "episcopal future."

By the Ordination a Bishop receives the "fullness of Ordained Ministry," for a specific service of communion; the service delineated in the New Catechism of the Catholic Church. In fact, along with the Sacrament of Matrimony, Holy Orders, in its triple dimension of episcopal, presbyterial and diaconal, is precisely the sacrament "of the service of the ecclesial communion." Vertical communion with the Holy Trinity for a horizontal communion with the humanity.

The universal Church is nothing more than "a communion of local churches" that reflects and transmits to all the divine communion, i.e. in a the way so mysterious and thus true, to "form family" of the Holy Trinity.

Therefore we hope that dear Bishop-elect Msgr. Joseph, who with his presbyters and deacons (permanent) could cling to a communion or rediscover a “Trinitarian” communion “full” with all the baptized people of the territory within which live the Christian community of Langres, especially making efforts to "grow in the quality and number" diocesan presbyters and deacons, his "two-hands" (as St. Ignatius of Antioch calls) to mature each "faithful” to "make disciples" all those who have not yet embraced or known Christ ... or those who had denied.

Let us pray for this purpose to the Holy Family of Nazareth.

- Don Giuseppe Magrin, President
- Don Antony Thuruthiyil, Treasurer
- Don Umberto Chizzoni, Deacon (permanent)
